MPP/J.D.
Master of Public Policy/Juris Doctor
The Master of Public Policy (MPP) and Juris Doctor (J.D.) dual degree is a chance to combine your passion for public policy with comprehensive legal training. Career policy professionals can work more effectively with a solid understanding of the law and legal institutions. Attorneys may find a career path in public policy and benefit from an education that combines policy content with a foundation in research methodology, statistics and economics.
How to apply
To apply to the MPP/J.D. dual degree program, you must complete and submit applications to both programs separately and simultaneously. Admissions decisions are made separately by the McCourt School and the Law School; therefore, admission to one program does not guarantee admission to the other.
In some cases, you can apply to one of the programs while in the first year of another. For questions about the MPP requirements, please contact McCourt Admissions at mccourtadmissions@georgetown.edu. For questions about the J.D. requirements, please contact Law Admissions at lawadmissions@georgetown.edu.
