Our New Home

The McCourt School will begin welcoming students in our existing graduate programs to the Capitol campus in Summer of 2024.

In 2021, ten of the McCourt School’s affiliated research centers moved to the newly acquired 500 1st Street building.

The opening of 125 E Street NW – which will directly connect to 500 1st – will bring McCourt School students, faculty, research centers, and staff together for the first time since the School’s foundation in 2013.

As the incoming class of 2024, you will be the first ones in our new building! We can’t wait until you see it.

Join our new WhatsApp community!

We are excited to invite you to join our new WhatsApp community, McCourt Admitted Students 2024. Here, you can meet other admitted students and build friendships by connecting in real time through group messaging. Join the Community here and start chatting .

STEM-certified Programs

Our MPP, MIDP, and MS-DSPP programs are all STEM-certified. If you are an international student on an F-1 visa and you complete any of these three programs, you will be eligible for an OPT extension.

Commitment to Inclusion

The McCourt School of Public Policy aspires to become the most inclusive public policy school in the nation. Inclusivity is a core value at McCourt because public policies are more effective when our political and policy decision makers reflect the perspectives and lived experience of the communities they serve, and being able to work across differences is a fundamental skill we seek to cultivate.

Internship Requirement

McCourt requires a formal internship experience as a program requirement for the MIDP, MPP, and MS-DSPP programs. The McCourt degrees emphasize analytical skills, enabling graduates to be highly effective in designing, analyzing and implementing policy in the US and around the globe. The internship requirement is integral to the student’s academic training at the McCourt School.

The learning objectives of the internship are:

Students can intern at any time during their time at McCourt and are required to have a minimum of 120 hours of work. Students can waive the internship requirement based on prior work or internship experience. Internships are optional for students in the MPM program. For more questions, please contact Assistant Director of Academic Affairs, Alora Hasson (ah1499@georgetown.edu).
