Why did you choose McCourt? I chose McCourt based on three key factors: (1) academic programming, (2) location, and (3) network. I was drawn to McCourt’s emphasis on developing students’ analytical skills and wanted a program that was committed to a strong quantitative methods and economics curriculum structure. Second, I desired a program that allowed both on-campus, as well as off-campus, learning opportunities. Given McCourt’s location in Washington, DC, I was able to intern at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and White House Office of Science and Technology Policy while taking classes. These internships became formative experiences in my graduate school career. Lastly, and most importantly, the peer and faculty network I encountered at McCourt was invaluable. McCourt fosters a community of friendship, intellectual curiosity, and camaraderie like no other.
What was the best part of your experience? I most valued the way the faculty and my peers encouraged me to think about policy problems and issues from all angles. I was exposed to many different perspectives during my time at McCourt and appreciated the diversity in backgrounds and experiences that everyone brought into the classroom environment.

Hobbies / Interests: I enjoy attending live music shows and belong to an organization that supports local musicians in the Austin area. Other interests include exploring new places, college basketball, cooking, and reading the latest fiction releases.
