Why did you choose McCourt? The welcoming and supportive community when I visited the campus.

What was the best part of your experience with McCourt? The people that I met were fantastic, and I loved the challenging coursework.

What internships did you have during your time at McCourt? I had two internships when I was at McCourt. First, I was the policy fellow for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), where I answered policy questions by Senate campaigns across the country. It was a fascinating look at how to communicate policy, both agreeable and controversial issues and how they play in different parts of the country. The second internship was with the Senate Budget Committee, which after I graduated turned into a fellowship and eventually a full-time job. For both internships, I was able to get my foot in the door through networking with Georgetown faculty.

Student organization involvement while at McCourt: I was an Executive Editor on the Georgetown Public Policy Review (GPPR) when I was a student, which provided great opportunities for me to get to work on publications and meet fascinating people. My favorite memory of time on GPPR was moderating a discussion between former-Senator Pete Domenici and Georgetown Professor Alice Rivlin about their historic work on the federal budget.

Undergraduate university, degree, and major: Purdue University, Political Science, Biology
