McCourt students awarded prestigious Bryce Harlow Fellowships

McCourt students represent more than a third of this year’s Bryce Harlow Fellowship recipients from Georgetown University.

McCourt students Robyn Engibous (MPM’23), Fiona Kohrman (MPM’23) and Rachel Martinez (MPP’23) were awarded the competitive Bryce Harlow Fellowship for the 2021-22 academic year.

The fellowship, named after Bryce Harlow, who dedicated his life to both public service and private enterprise, is awarded to individuals who work full-time and undertake graduate-level studies on a part-time basis. “There are few opportunities for students like these who are balancing so many different responsibilities,” says Barbara Schone, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Faculty Director of the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program . In addition to an ,000 tuition scholarship, fellows also have the opportunity to take part in a mentorship program with the Foundation’s board members.

“Historically, our part-time students have been competitive candidates for this award, and we strongly encourage our students to apply for this fellowship,” Schone added. The application window for the 2022-23 Bryce Harlow Fellowship Program opens January 2022.

Robyn Engibous

“It is such a privilege to be able to pursue a master’s degree at the McCourt School of Public Policy while continuing to work on Capitol Hill. I’m honored to be part of the Bryce Harlow Fellowship program and am looking forward to combining the values and education learned at the McCourt School with Mr. Harlow’s legacy of integrity, collaboration and advocacy.”

“I am grateful for the opportunity to be a Bryce Harlow fellow. The Bryce Harlow Foundation mentorship program will enrich my graduate studies by giving me the skills and tools I need to become an even stronger professional advocate.”

Rachel Martinez

“I am extremely appreciative of the Bryce Harlow Foundation for the opportunity to pursue my dreams with the support of its distinguished members. This fellowship awards me singular access to experienced government relations professionals from whom I will learn so much. My future as an advocate for public policy is brighter because of the relationships that I now have the opportunity to build through the foundation’s mentor program and the skills that I will hone through the foundation’s training programs.”

The McCourt School congratulates all of the Bryce Harlow Fellows for the 2021-22 academic year!
