Xiaoyang Xu is a Post Doctoral Associate at the Better Government Lab. Her research interests focus on equal access to public services. She is currently working on the project “Can Governments Learn Digital Governance Innovation from the Civic Tech Community?” with Professor Don Moynihan. Using a qualitative approach, this project examines the process through which the government adopts technology innovations from collaborations with various types of civic tech organizations. The project involves a series of in-depth interviews with government officials, managers, and street-level bureaucrats, and staff members from civic tech organizations. It seeks to improve the effectiveness and equity in government service delivery and reduce the administrative burden that the public experiences.
