Tech Policy Press Fellowship
TPP is pleased to announce a Spring 2025 student fellowship opportunity in collaboration with Tech Policy Press, a nonprofit media venture intended to provoke new ideas, debate and discussion at the intersection of technology and democracy. The Fellowship will offer two graduate students enrolled in a Georgetown University program the opportunity to work directly with Tech Policy Press during the Spring 2025 semester.
Fellows will develop substantive summaries of policy items for publication on the outlet’s website, and identify research, papers and other resources to further inform readers. Fellows may also have the opportunity to produce an original analysis for publication, such as a cross-state or international comparison of tech policies. The work will help deepen students’ understanding of tech policy issues and solutions and help them gain experience researching and writing on complex topics for an expert audience.

Spring 2025 Student Leadership Team
Student Leadership Teams (SLTs) are a critical component of TPP’s Visiting Fellows program. Chosen by application, a small team of select students work closely with each Fellow to help them craft topics for discussion groups, promote speaking events, connect them with student groups and the rest of the campus community and ensure their tenure at Georgetown is a success. SLTs are assigned to Fellows based on their academic pursuits, policy interests and availability.
What will Student Leadership Teams do?
- Collaborate and connect with Visiting Fellows in weekly sync-ups
- Brainstorm and debate various issues in tech policy in sessions with Visiting Fellows to craft dynamic, timely discussion group topics that will resonate with students
- Design and participate in site visits to get a behind-the-scenes look at orgs/government offices/the Hill/federal agencies/tech companies in DC
- Ideate creative communication and marketing campaigns to spur audience attendance for Visiting Fellows’ discussion groups, office hours and site visits
- Be a campus ambassador to broaden awareness of the Visiting Fellows program and its related activities and opportunities
NEW! SLTs will now include a “Team Captain.” This is a special opportunity for students who want to demonstrate leadership and immerse themselves more fully with the program. Team Captains will guide their SLTs, be proactive in working directly with their Fellow and be the primary contact with the TPP team. This is a great way to become more connected with the Fellow and with the TPP community, and a unique professional opportunity (it’s also a great thing to put on your resume!)
There is no specific time commitment for this effort but we do expect you to make time to work with the fellows. Engagements should take approximately one to two hours a week. This is a great opportunity to work closely with tech policy professionals in the field. Apply here .
