Why did you choose McCourt? The DSPP program offered through McCourt is very unique and a perfect combination of my quantitative skills and passion for enacting change through public policy. Plus, there’s no better place to study public policy than DC!
What professional/ work experience did you have prior to coming to McCourt? I finished my undergraduate degree right before coming to McCourt, however, I do have some professional experience. I worked as a Spanish teacher throughout my undergraduate years. I worked as a health policy intern at a nonprofit organization in London. My most recent position was a part-time job in international relations at UnitedHealthcare.
What has been the best part of your experience so far? My favorite part has been the connections and friends I’ve made through my program, McCourt, and in DC in general! I’ve loved getting to know the city and learning more about policy through my experiences here.
What internships have you had so far during your time at McCourt? I’ve been working as a research assistant for multiple professors throughout my first year at McCourt.

Hobbies/ Interests: I am interested in policy research in the healthcare space, specifically in private insurance market reforms and prescription drug pricing. I am also interested in access to care in the criminal justice context, including during incarceration and after re-entry. I am focused on using my quantitative skills in math, statistics, and data science for research in these areas. I also love to travel and have studied abroad multiple times in London and Seville, Spain.
