Why did you choose McCourt? I chose McCourt for the unparalleled faculty, the supportive community, and the opportunities in Washington, DC. One of the factors that drew me to McCourt the most was that many faculty members were conducting research in the policy areas that were of most interest to me. Not only were the faculty conducting this research to drive evidence-based policy, but many have had invaluable industry experience to share with their students. Together with the faculty, the McCourt students form an incredibly supportive community in which each students are encouraged to collaborate and share in their learning experience. Finally, learning at McCourt goes beyond the classroom in the city where policy is made. Incredible speakers visit campus, and students are able to attend policy relevant events and gain internship experience throughout DC.

What has been the best part of your experience so far? One of the best parts of my McCourt experience so far has been learning from the experience of my peers. Being surrounded by likeminded individuals with similar interests in policy allows for incredible conversation and sharing in knowledge. The McCourt curriculum is collaborative and students can always be found discussing upcoming memos or quant problem sets. This tightknit community and the opportunity to learn from one another has been wonderful.

Student organization involvement while at McCourt: I am a project coordinator for McCourt Policy in Practice (MPiP), a student run organization that provides policy consulting for non-profits in Latin America. This semester I am working with ProEd in Panama City as they begin a new teacher training program.
