Why did you choose McCourt? Central to my values is a dedication to serving others, my country, and the prosperity of our shared way of life. The McCourt School of Public Policy’s emphasis on cultivating leaders committed to affecting positive change through policy and action resonates deeply with me. Georgetown University’s esteemed reputation and the program’s location in the heart of Washington, DC further solidified my choice. Additionally, as a General Omar N. Bradley Fellow , McCourt’s partnership with the U.S. Army presented an invaluable opportunity to advance my expertise in policy management and equip me with valuable skills essential for my career in the military.
What professional/ work experience did you have prior to coming to McCourt? Before embarking on my journey at McCourt, I served over a decade in the U.S. Army, mainly as an active-duty Army Officer with multiple deployments to Afghanistan and numerous multi-lateral engagements with international military units, including partnerships across Indonesia. My varied roles spanned leadership and staff positions, culminating in my tenure as a Company Commander overseeing 200+ soldiers. Alongside my operational experience, I’ve been honored with distinctions such as the Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, and Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
What has been the best part of your experience so far? Undoubtedly, the highlight of my McCourt experience has been the camaraderie and intellectual exchange within the program and my cohort. Interacting with classmates from diverse backgrounds, professions, and nationalities has been incredibly enriching. Moreover, I have relished the chance to engage with policy practitioners within my particular areas of interest, deepening my understanding through research and discourse on topics such as national defense policy, education policy, and diplomacy .
Student organization involvement while at McCourt: Vice President of the National Defense Policy Initiative (NDPI) , GU Politics, and Hoya Battalion (ROTC)

Hobbies/ Interests: Outside of academic pursuits, I prioritize spending quality time with family and friends. When I’m not enthusiastically supporting Indiana sports teams, I find immense joy and rejuvenation in engaging in outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and cycling. Exploring different cultures through travel is a source of endless fascination for me, while I also take pleasure in immersing myself in the vibrant scene of Washington, DC. I also dedicate time to volunteer at the 826DC after-school Writing Center, where I have the privilege of inspiring and supporting young minds in my local community.
