New Publication from Ethics Lab and MDI: Ethics of Administrative Data Sharing
We are pleased to share with you a new publication, Ethics of Administrative Data Sharing: Agenda-Setting Framework. This white paper offers much-needed guidance for ethical stewardship of administrative data sharing as the field develops. Reflecting the views of an interdisciplinary group of scholars in data science, ethics, law, and policy, the white paper speaks to data intermediaries, providers, and requestors about which ethical issues to prioritize so that ethical standards don’t lag behind technological and policy innovations. The paper sets out core ethical values for data sharing, identifies goals and challenges for key players, and makes recommendations to encourage the development of ethical governance frameworks so that administrative data sharing can advance the common good while securing legitimacy and public trust.
