Application Update for Federal Employees, Georgetown Graduating Seniors, & Recent Georgetown Alumni

Following Georgetown University’s recent announcement of resources for current or recently separated federal civil government employees, graduating undergraduates, and recent undergraduate alumni, the MPP, MIDP, MS-DSPP, and EMPL programs are doing the following for eligible applicants:

– offering a 10% scholarship on the base tuition for the 2025–2026 academic year;
– offering an application fee waiver;
– accepting completed* applications until May 1, 2025;
– considering applicants for additional merit-based scholarships

*A completed application means that you have uploaded all required application materials including the receipt of at least two out of the three (or one out of two for EMPL) required recommendations. Please know that the GRE score requirement (for MPP, MIDP and MS-DSPP) can also be waived within the online application.

Once your application is complete, email mccourtadmissions@georgetown.edu to request the late submission of your application. While we will accept completed applications until May 1, we strongly encourage you to complete your application as soon as possible as decisions will be released on a rolling basis.

If you are not in the categories above, you may still submit a late application but you will not be eligible for the application fee waiver or the 10% tuition scholarship. The same completion and deadline rules apply.

Scholarship Deadlines

To be considered for merit-based scholarships, including the McCourt Scholar Award, applicants need to indicate on the online application that they wish to be considered for scholarships and apply for either the Early Decision or Priority deadline. Aside from the timing, there is no difference between the Early Decision and Priority deadlines.

Early Decision and Priority deadline applicants will also be informed of other fellowship and scholarship opportunities as they become available (a separate application may be required).

Final deadline applicants will receive merit-based scholarship consideration and be notified of other opportunities if such funding remains.
