Caio Mendes Siemionko

Caio Mendes Siemionko is a Master of Policy Management student at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. He grew up in Campo Grande, a city in mid-west Brazil, and moved to São Paulo to study business and law at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). Over the past ten years, he has held multiple leadership positions at the world’s largest brewery in Brazil. After witnessing firsthand the harsh reality of many Brazilians who live in poverty, he developed a strong interest in economic development. Last year, he decided to take a sabbatical to study the topic and explore solutions for the future. While at Georgetown, he has focused on policies related to public sector innovation and is currently working on a capstone project exploring how Brazil can implement a digital transformation based on international benchmarks.  He moved to Washington, DC, with his wife, and in his spare time, he enjoys spending time in nature, hiking mountains and reading.
