Title: McCourt School receives $200K gift from Craig Newmark Philanthropies

In the 2022-23 academic year, nine scholarships will be awarded to military-connected students across McCourt’s academic programs, renewing support for the current Newmark Scholars who have another year remaining in their programs and extending additional scholarships to new students enrolling in fall 2022. In addition to a financial award, Newmark Scholars have the opportunity to work with Craig Newmark Philanthropies to amplify their work and participate in networking activities.

“Military-connected students bring a rich diversity of lived experience to our classrooms. These students are a vital part of the McCourt community,” said McCourt School Dean Maria Cancian.

After completing their education at McCourt, military-connected students and their civilian peers are catalysts for change in our country, designing and implementing policies that will better serve all Americans, including veterans and their families. 

How to become a 2022-23 Newmark Scholar

All U.S. domestic McCourt School applicants to full-time and part-time degree programs who identify as U.S. veterans, active-duty, reserve and/or military-connected are eligible for consideration by submitting a Newmark Scholar application by Monday, February 21, 2022, at 5:00 pm ET. Select applicants will be invited to interview with McCourt School faculty and staff in March 2022, with finalists notified in mid-March.
