CEF Cohort Profile

The Certificate in Education Finance (CEF) is designed for busy working professionals. Participants attend a two-day, in-person, group live session with seven follow-up modules of group internet-based interactive virtual learning (each 2-3 hours).

The program targets, but is not limited to, education policymakers; central office leadership; campus and network leaders; analysts and graduate students; grant makers and nonprofit leaders.

No prerequisites or advance preparation required. Upon completion, participants will earn a Certificate in Education Finance issued by Georgetown University and can earn 4.0 CEUs or 48 CPEs.

Since its launch in 2018, CEF cohorts have incorporated a wide range of experiences and perspectives from inside and outside the education sector and from states and districts across the country. Alumni include state and school district leaders, budget directors, and administrators; school principals (traditional and charter); school board members; executive and legislative staff; state policy advocates; education reporters and communications consultants; foundation program officers; and more.
