Why did you choose McCourt? I chose to come to McCourt because of its proximity to exciting local, national, and international networks, its rigorous curriculum guided by experienced, passionate, and caring professors, and its overall warm and caring culture.
What professional/ work experience did you have prior to coming to McCourt? After graduating with my bachelor’s, I worked for a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the City of Philadelphia. I supported the Office of Innovation and Technology with digital equity initiatives, which included increasing access to broadband service, devices, and digital skills training. I have also been involved in a variety of urban planning and community development and engagement projects.
What was the best part of your experience? The best and worst part has been that there are so many opportunities for lectures, clubs, and networking events that I can’t possibly take advantage of them all.
What internships did you have during your time at McCourt? Research Assistant, Georgetown Environmental Justice Program
Student organization involvement while at McCourt: Policy Innovation Lab, Georgetown Public Policy Review (GPPR), McCourt Energy and Environment (E&E), Library Student Council.
Undergraduate University, degree, and major: Brigham Young University, Geography: Urban and Regional Planning; French Studies
Hobbies/ Interests: I’m fascinated by all aspects of urban life, from housing, transportation, and economic development, to visiting parks and museums, trying new restaurants, and exploring new neighborhoods. I also love watching and talking about movies.
