Why did you choose McCourt? McCourt’s public policy program has one of the most rigorous quantitative curriculums in the United States. After visiting Georgetown in November 2017, and attending McCourt’s classes, I knew that the city and the program are the perfect fit for me. McCourt has an ideal combination of academic and applied professors, which makes it suitable for students with varying academic and career backgrounds.
What was the best part of your experience?
Washington, DC is the hub for the world’s most prestigious policy think-tanks, which host various policy events on a weekly basis. This further allows you to network and gain exposure with many of the world’s leading researchers in each policy area. Another unique aspect of Georgetown University, is its student body, as it enables you to meet students with similar policy interests from other countries in the world, thus expanding one’s perspective and knowledge on those dimensions.
During my time at McCourt, I interned at the World Bank’s Doing Business Department, which ranks 190 countries on the ease of doing business. I also worked with the Harvard Evidence for Policy Design Center studying potential reforms for Saudi Arabia’s labor market regulations.
