Why did you choose McCourt? I chose McCourt because I knew my interests and goals wouldn’t be satisfied through just an MBA, and McCourt made Georgetown the perfect destination for my post-graduate ambitions. Quant courses have never been my favorite, but McCourt’s focus on quantitative analysis would give me the tools to more intelligently read studies and set me up for success in a data-driven world. My overall interest lies at the intersection of the public and private sectors. Major problems facing society like climate change or the impact on automation to the workforce can’t be handled by just government or business alone, so my dual degree positions me as a subject matter expert at this intersection.
What professional/ work experience did you have prior to coming to McCourt? Prior to Georgetown, I worked in Ernst & Young’s Government & Public Sector consulting practice where I helped affect meaningful change in federal and state entities to improve operations and constituent experiences. Clients I assisted included the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Federal Communications Committee, higher education institutions, and state governments.
What has been the best part of your experience so far? The professors at McCourt, and Georgetown more generally, have been excellent. They bring a mix of professional and academic experience so that classroom insights can be complemented by real world applications. Plus lots of cool stories about their time working in Administrations or Departments!
