When it comes to her deep passion for renewable energy, Gloria Li has the Florida coastline to thank. In high school, her efforts to protect the natural wonders drew the support of Disney and Youth Service America. Li continued her ocean-conservancy efforts and helped expand Florida’s utility scale solar development as an undergraduate at the University of Florida. There, she organized summits that brought together students to collaborate on regional policy change. This year Li worked with a trade association to pass a landmark energy law in Virginia. She’s excited to study data science for public policy at McCourt, developing tools to construct renewable-energy legislation and accelerate institutional decarbonization on regional and national scales, ensuring Florida’s coast can keep inspiring leaders like Li for generations to come.
