Why did you choose McCourt? I was particularly drawn to McCourt for its versatile and well-balanced curriculum which stresses not only the need for effective policy, but also the mechanics of how data and data analytics may be incorporated into its development. The sense of mission and passion for service of the students and faculty of McCourt also stood out to me.

What professional/ work experience did you have prior to coming to McCourt? Prior to attending McCourt, I worked for the global public affairs and crisis communications firm, Burson Cohn & Wolfe (now called Burson), for over five years. During that time, I managed client accounts, conducted stakeholder engagement and congressional outreach, wrote and presented reports for C-Suite, and more. As an undergraduate student, I also interned for a variety of organizations and companies with efforts focused on climate change and environmental sustainability, including the Alliance to Save Energy, Montgomery County, MD’s Department of Environmental Protection, and Greenpeace.

What was the best part of your experience? Being exposed to new ways of thinking and perspectives from my fellow classmates and professors has helped me grow more as a person.

What internships did you have during your time at McCourt? Between June 2022-May 2023, I worked for Montgomery County, MD’s Department of Environmental Protection as a Climate Fellow. In this role, I supported the County’s Climate Planning Team with various projects such as helping businesses transition to electric vehicles, analyzing County solar installation data, and designing a residential building electrification incentive pilot program.
