Professor Judy Feder Issues Alternative Report on Long-Term Care Solutions

Judy Feder, appointed by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to the bi-partisan Senate Commission on Long-Term Care, joined fellow commissioners in releasing an alternative report to address the issue of long-term care services in the United States.

Compelled to provide Congress with a comprehensive report on implementing and financing long-term care services, five commissioners, including Judy Feder, a health care and long-term care expert and professor at the McCourt School, issued an alternative report to the Commission’s final report to Congress.

Born out of the fiscal cliff compromise in early 2013, the Commission on Long-Term Care was tasked with providing legislative recommendations for building a sustainable long-term care system.

Within 100 days, the Commission released its final report. While nine commissioners voted in favor of putting forward the report, six commissioners, including Feder, voted against it.
