MPiP Holds Annual Auction While Celebrating 10th Anniversary

McCourt Policy in Practice (MPiP) hosted its annual policy auction to support its several ongoing projects abroad.

The popular event among the McCourt community allows bids on a variety of prizes including dinners with faculty members to golf outings.

This year marked MPiP’s 10th anniversary, which saw a number of alumni come out to bid and lend their support. Approximately 100 students, faculty, alumni and friends attended the auction while raising ,000.

MPiP is a student-led organization that allows members to engage in an ongoing policy-learning experience by partnering with local communities and nonprofit organizations to use rigorous policy tools in designing, implementing, and evaluating sustainable, evidence-based development projects that address identified needs.

Previous policy projects have included those related to health, the environment, infrastructure, and education in Honduras and the Dominican Republic.

This year’s auction supports the students’ current endeavors to apply their quantitative and qualitative skills in support of the Puerto Plata area of the Dominican Republic.
