McCourt School Dean joins Center on Budget and Policy Priorities Board of Directors
The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) announced today that McCourt School Dean Maria Cancian, along with two others, will be joining its Board of Directors.
The CBPP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization and policy institute which has helped to champion policies to help families and children across the country for over 40 years.
Today, McCourt School Dean Maria Cancian will join their Board of Directors and embody the McCourt School mission of turning passion into action. In this role, Dean Cancian will help to steer the Center as they work to build a nation where everyone has the resources they need to thrive.
Dean Cancian will join Mayra Alvarez, President of the Children’s Partnership, and James Jimenez, Executive Director of the New Mexico Pediatric Society, as the newest members of CBPPs Board of Directors.
CBPP President Sharon Parrott stated, “Our Board has made an outstanding decision in selecting these three new members to help steer the Center in building a nation where everyone has the resources they need to thrive and share in the nation’s prosperity. With their broad and deep expertise in the Center’s core issues, Mayra, Maria, and James will help ensure we continue to shape policies at the federal and state level that improve economic and health security and broaden opportunity.”
We are excited for the work that Dean Cancian will do in this new role and the impact she will have in Washington and around the country.
