Event: Impatient Changemakers: A Conversation with Colombian President Iván Duque (MPM’07)
On April 16, the McCourt School of Public Policy and the school’s Latin American Alumni Network was pleased to welcome Ivan Duque (MPM’07), McCourt School alumnus and President of the Republic of Colombia. President Duque joined McCourt School Dean Maria Cancian and McCourt Latin American alumni leaders for a discussion about his time at Georgetown and how it shaped his leadership strategies in Colombia.

On Friday, April 16, 2021 McCourt School Dean Maria Cancian joined the Latin American Alumni Network in a discussion with the President of the Republic of Colombia and McCourt School alum, Iván Duque (MPM ’07).
President Duque discussed his time on the Hilltop, and explored his journey from master of policy management student to President of the Republic of Colombia.
During the question and answer portion of the event, President Duque also shared more about Colombia’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and how strong policymaking helped pave the way forward.
