Emergency Preparedness

In response to an emerging outbreak of a respiratory disease caused by a new strain of a well-known virus, coronavirus, Georgetown is taking proactive steps to ensure the health and safety of our community. This page contains information on how to receive the latest information on the Universities operating status, necessary tools to telework, and information to help troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

If you are a member of the community with additional questions about COVID-19, you can call Georgetown University’s main campus helpline to be connected to the appropriate university representative to answer your question. Emergency Readiness

HOYAlert

HOYAlert sends messages with guidance in the event of an incident affecting the safety or security of Georgetown’s Main Campus, Medical Center, School of Continuing Studies and Law Center. All current students, faculty and staff will receive HOYAlerts at their Georgetown University email address and at additional email addresses and phone numbers that the University has on file.

Zoom is a web conferencing tool that provides a platform to conduct live online conferences, presentations, lectures, meetings and group chats. All Georgetown faculty, staff and students have Zoom Pro accounts.

Office Telephones and Call Forwarding

Call forwarding temporarily forwards all your calls to another extension of the your choice. Press “FWD All” on the display pad. Enter “9” and the telephone number you wish to receive your calls beginning with the area code.
