Note: This certificate is only offered to employers who sponsor a cohort of participants. Employers must sponsor at least ten students to establish a cohort.

The Certificate for Educational Leadership and Management at the McCourt School of Public Policy prepares participants with the skills, expertise and knowledge that local and state leaders need to address large-scale challenges and bring bold and positive change in K-12 education. From collective bargaining agreements, public relations, statutory shifts, tight budgets, changing academic standards and an urgent focus on helping all children succeed, K-12 leaders and managers must find new ways to address these challenges and implement effective policy reforms.

This certificate builds the expertise and knowledge that local and state leaders need to address large-scale challenges and bring bold positive change in technology, human resources, school turnaround efforts, innovation zones, teacher quality reforms and accountability initiatives. Participants of this certificate will leave with the management and leadership skills needed to implement and sustain innovation and pedagogical reforms. The Educational Leadership and Management certificate is designed for district and state managers and leaders involved with budgeting, managing human resources, negotiating contracts, writing rules, applying for and adhering to federal grants or designing and implementing reform initiatives.
Innovative curriculum
Taught over the course of five sessions, the Certificate in Educational Leadership and Management is designed to help local and state education officials support and lead improvement efforts. Instruction focuses on finding smarter, more powerful ways to leverage tools, talent, time and money within the constraints presented by policy implementation.

Melissa Junge
Melissa Junge is an attorney and co-founder of Federal Education Group, PLLC. Junge assists states, school districts, and charter schools use federal money to achieve their goals for students in a way that maintains compliance.
Sheara Krvaric
Sheara Krvaric is an attorney focusing on federal education programs where she helps states, school districts, charter schools and educational organizations navigate federal laws to maximize the reach of their federal grants.
Marguerite Roza, PhD
Marguerite Roza is Research Professor at Georgetown University and Director of the Edunomics Lab. She equips participants with practical skills in strategic fiscal management, policy analysis and educational leadership.

Admissions requirements & FAQs
What do participants earn?
All Participants who attend and complete all sessions will receive a Georgetown University Certificate in Education Management and Leadership and 3.0 Continuing Education Units (CEU).
Tuition & Cost of Attendance
Tuition includes a light breakfast, lunch, books, and handouts. Tuition ranges from $2,000 per student to $5,200 per student depending on the cohort size and class location.
Students in this program are not eligible for federal financial aid.
Certificate Format and Cohort Model
The Certificate in Educational Leadership and Management is only offered to employers who sponsor a cohort of participants. Employers must sponsor at least 10 students to establish a cohort.
