Historic Victorian row-homes and Art Deco apartments make up much of the housing in DC’s unique neighborhoods, all an easy commute from McCourt’s downtown location.
Ranked as the best park system in the nation, Washington, DC is home to abundant urban parks and green space and over 67 miles of multi-use trails. World-class performance spaces such as The Kennedy Center, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and Shakespeare Theatre Company and more make DC a destination city. With legendary sports teams such as the Nationals, Capitals, Commanders and other professional sports teams, DC offers an abundance of extracurricular opportunities.
When needing a change of scenery, McCourt’s central downtown location makes getting away a breeze. WMATA offers convenient transportation throughout Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. A short ride within the city will take you to DC’s iconic Georgetown neighborhood., where blocks away from Georgetown’s idyllic northwestern Hilltop campus is bustling M Street, the heart of the neighborhood that boasts a rich nightlife, international restaurants and shopping from local boutiques to internationally-recognized brands. Further trips to Annapolis, Harper’s Ferry, Baltimore, Ocean City and many others are easy weekend excursions, while New York City is only a three-hour train ride away.

Being blocks from the Capitol means our programming looks different from most schools. McCourt hosts policy forums on breaking issues, intimate roundtables with leading voices, and events that connect students directly to the people and institutions shaping policy in real time.
