Public Policy Challenge
Develop innovative solutions to issues affecting the Washington, DC community.
Since 2014, hundreds of students have participated and thousands of dollars in prize money has been awarded through this annual competition, leading to the development and implementation of policy proposals across the District.
How to participate
The Public Policy Challenge is open to all students currently enrolled in a Georgetown University graduate program. Students can apply as either an individual or as a team of 2-5 students. Individual applicants will be placed on teams with other students based on policy interests. Contact the Public Policy Challenge team with any questions.
Previous challenge winners
Previous winning proposals have addressed assisting small businesses with purchases commercial property in Washington, DC; addressing issues young, homeless parents face in the District; a mobile clinic supplying free flu vaccinations to vulnerable neighborhoods; a skills-based job training program housing within public libraries; a workshop teaching forgiveness and reconciliation to high-risk Latino youth; a mobile-based application that directly addresses absenteeism and academic performance; and more.
