Wesley Joe
Associate Teaching Professor
Wesley Joe teaches statistics, data visualization, and policymaking processes and implementation.
Before returning to Georgetown in 2011, Wesley was the Director of Research at the Campaign Finance Institute, a nonpartisan think tank that was affiliated with the George Washington University. Wesley’s research focuses on citizen participation and regulation of it, including voting rights, election administration, and campaign finance policy.
Before attending graduate school, Wesley worked for the enterprise network management software development division of Tandem Computers, a Fortune 500 Silicon Valley company that is now the NonStop Systems division of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He maintains a strong affinity for computer geekdom.
In 2022, McCourt's students recognized Wesley's work with the school's Leslie Whittington Award for "an outstanding faculty member who has shown commitment to their field of study and to the students they teach."
As a volunteer, Wesley has served as a voting member of the Arlington, Virginia Public Schools Advisory Council on Teaching and Learning (formerly the Advisory Council on Instruction).
