Why did you choose McCourt? I chose McCourt because of the impressive faculty that would be teaching my international development courses. Since the MIDP is a focused area, it was important to me that I had professors with tons of experience outside of academia and could not only teach me, but offer me insights on what it's like to work in international development. A big bonus is being in DC and getting to engage with policymakers on a frequent basis.
What was the best part of your experience? The best part has definitely been getting opportunities to share about public policy issues I think deserve more attention. I had the pleasure of leading the Migration and Refugee Policy Initiative as its president and got to help engage a lot of students on current refugees crises happening all over the world. I also enjoyed having a lot of support from the faculty to secure internships, attend conferences, and build up my network.
