Edwin Park

Edwin Park is a Research Professor at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. His work at the Center for Children and Families primarily focuses on Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and he is considered one of the nation’s leading health policy experts on issues such as Medicaid and CHIP financing and the ACA’s coverage expansions. He also analyzes tax policies related to health care and policies related to private health insurance and prescription drug pricing.

He has testified before Congress and the California state legislature, been interviewed by media outlets such as National Public Radio and has been cited in numerous print publications including the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal.

Previously, he worked for 17 years at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, where he was most recently Vice President for Health Policy and co-directed the Center’s 15-person health policy team. He also served as the health policy advisor for the National Economic Council at the White House and as a Medicaid professional staff member for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. He also was an attorney in private practice, as part of the Health Practice Group at Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells). In addition, he served on the Biden-Harris Presidential Transition Agency Review Team for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He is a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance.

He has a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He also has an A.B. in Public and International Affairs, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Princeton University.
