Andy Schneider
Research Professor of the Practice
Andy Schneider is a Research Professor of the Practice at the Center for Children and Families in the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. His research relates generally to how the Medicaid program can better ensure access to needed health care services for low-income children and families throughout the country. His specific focus is on the use of transparency to understand and improve the performance of individual Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) for enrolled children.
Prior to joining Georgetown University in 2017, Schneider served as a Senior Advisor to the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services in the Obama Administration. He also served as Chief Health Counsel to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and as Chief Health Counsel to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. From 2019 to 2022, he served on the Healthy California for All Commission.
Schneider received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and an A.B. from Princeton University, where he majored at the School for Public and International Affairs.
