Why did you choose McCourt? My undergraduate degree was in Finance, and after going back to school to earn my MBA, I spent the last 15 years in the private sector focused on technology and online advertising. I wanted to expand on my business experience to focus more on public policy issues affecting corporate and technology companies. The EMPL executive program was ideal for me as a working professional. I can continue to focus on my career while gaining access to such a diverse and esteemed group of students and professors.
What was the best part of your experience? Getting to know my amazing cohort, all of whom come from such diverse backgrounds. The EMPL curriculum provides a broad education across public policy, communications, negotiation, financial management, economics, and leadership. The McCourt EMPL program has been invaluable in providing a strong academic focus while allowing me to have a life and career outside of the classroom.
What student organizations are you involved with? Georgetown Public Policy Review and Georgetown Women in Public Policy Initiative
Undergraduate University, degree, and major: University of Maryland, BS in Finance and MBA International Business
Hobbies / Interests: I'm passionate about mentoring and education for children in underprivileged schools, by helping students learn how to implement a healthy lifestyle through what I learned growing up as a competitive gymnast. Although my career background was in finance and technology, I love to learn and expanding my knowledge in an area out of my comfort zone and experience, and there is no better place than the McCourt School of Public Policy.
