Why did you choose McCourt? I chose McCourt to get a world-class education somewhere rife with opportunities to get involved in policy, politics, and public service. In my two years of graduate school, I was able to do just that, taking classes that interested me -- like Negotiation, Campaign Management, or Poverty and the Social Safety Net -- while meeting amazing people working across DC and interning on campaigns, the Hill, and in political consulting.
What was the best part of your experience? Going to Iowa for the 2020 caucuses through GU Politics and meeting with candidates, political operatives, and journalists for 4 days straight! And really just all the amazing people -- students, faculty, staff, and alumni -- that I met and worked with at McCourt.
Undergraduate university, degree, and major: I received my BA in English from Miami University (Ohio) in 2018
Hobbies / Interests: Pre-pandemic: going to the movies, sporting events and spending time with friends. Now: mostly the same, just virtually. And always spending way too much time on Twitter (@jacknotryan).
What internships did you complete? I interned at the DCCC, Hilltop Public Solutions, and the House Committee on Ways and Means during my time at McCourt. I also worked as a GA with McCourt Executive Education.
Which Student Organizations did you participate in? McCourt Student Association, Georgetown Public Policy Review, GU Politics
