Why did you choose McCourt? I chose McCourt because the emphasis on evidence-based, quantitative policy analysis seemed like a unique part of the McCourt experience when compared with similar programs. While I knew that the quant-heavy courses would be difficult, I believed they would make a difference in my professional career. I believe that learning how to emphasize evidence-based solutions will make me a more effective policy leader.
What has been the best part of your experience so far? The collaborative community at McCourt is unlike anything I have experienced before. My friends in different graduate programs constantly complain about the competitiveness of their programs and how students refuse to help each other. My experience at McCourt has been exactly the opposite. Everyone I have met here is eager to help.
Student organization involvement while at McCourt: GPPR (Spring Team), Policy Innovation Lab, FaHRM
Undergraduate University, degree, and major: University of Houston, BS Political Science, BA History
Hobbies/ Interests: I am broadly interested in anti-poverty policy. Specifically, my expertise is in Food and Nutrition Policy.
