Why did you choose McCourt? I wanted a top-rate education which would provide me with rigorous quantitative training, taught by highly-respected professors with years of experience.
What has been the best part of your experience so far? The best part of my experience at McCourt so far has been interacting with other students, either through my coursework or in the many events put on by McCourt.
What internships have you had so far during your time at McCourt? I have completed one internship with the US Dept of Commerce in the Office of Energy and Environmental Industries of the International Trade Administration. This was great public sector experience, as I was able to work closely not only with other USG entities such as DOS, DOE, and the ExIm Bank, but also with stakeholders throughout the spectrum of the advanced batteries and critical minerals value chain such as Tesla, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, FoxConn, and more. I will also be starting an internship with the Government Affairs Division of SAP here in Berlin in a few weeks' time, where I will be assisting my supervisor and her team with matters related to SAP's ESG strategy, export promotion, and enhanced transatlantic cooperation--essentially the flip side of what I was doing at DOC, just this time in a different country. For both of these experiences, the networking opportunities provided by McCourt were essential, as I found out about the DOC internship through an indirect Georgetown connection, and the exchange program is what has allowed me to participate in the SAP internship program in my time abroad.
Student organization involvement while at McCourt: I am currently a member of the McCourt Energy and Environmental Policy (E&E) club.
Undergraduate University, degree, and major: University of Pittsburgh, B.S. Psychology/German Studies
Hobbies/ Interests: I enjoy reading about political economy--particularly in the European Union--cooking, and exercising regularly. I also enjoy watching BBC documentaries, especially the works of Adam Curtis.
