Why have you chosen McCourt? I chose McCourt for two reasons: its location in the heart of Washington, D.C., and its emphasis on the quantitative component of policy decision-making. The location is amazing, with proximity and access to key leaders in my field of interest. The quantitative emphasis of the coursework has been excellent in terms of helping me develop a skill set that complements the issue-based skills I gained from work experience prior to McCourt.
What's the best part of your experience so far? The best part of my experience so far has been my involvement with the student group EduWonks. My career aspirations are in the field of education policy, and my involvement with EduWonks has granted me access to individuals who are change-makers in this field, as well as helped me broaden my professional network. It's also been nice to dialogue with fellow students who are passionate about education reform!
Undergraduate Degree and University: I received my B.A. in Political Science and French from the University of South Carolina in 2011.
Hobbies / Interests: In my spare time I enjoy running, barre fitness classes, cooking, and exploring D.C. with my sweet dog.
